The lights of Diwali are a powerful reminder that there is a way out of the darkness – and to me, it is a symbol that while we come from different cultures, different faith traditions, different backgrounds, we share so many bonds.

Thank you Rikashi Shand and everyone at City Hall this evening for sharing your traditions with us so that we can weave Diwali into our tapestry of celebrations here in the City of Newton.
