A replica World War II cattle car which serves as the “classroom” for a powerful history lesson is at Newton City Hall (1000 Commonwealth Avenue on the side of the building where Homer and Lowell converge) from Monday, May 27 through Wednesday, May 29.
The Shadowlight Hate Ends Now Cattle Car Experience is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free tours run every 30 minutes.
Participants step inside an exact replica of a cattle car used during the Holocaust to transport Jews and others to concentration camps and watch a 21-minute, 360-degree presentation featuring stories from survivors which teach the history along with steps we can all take to stop hate and intolerance.
